FAQ - VENUE INFORMATION
Q: Why is HH an exclusive venue?
A: HH, established in 1884 is a classical, timeless estate of the grand Victorian era. The privately owned property is set on eleven acres of beautifully manicured gardens – an outstanding setting even by Southern Highlands standards. Exclusivity is enhanced by only 30 weddings permitted in a year. HH has been hosting weddings for over 20 years.
Q: Is HH a private venue?
A: You will have total private use of HH for the day of your wedding, for your ceremony in the “Lawn Chapel” and at “The Pavilion” for your reception.
Q: What days are weddings permitted?
A: Saturday weddings are only permitted by Council regulations, minimum 80-90 guests, with a maximum of 150 guests.
Q: Are smaller weddings permitted?
Q: What does the venue hire fee include?
A: Hire is for the exclusive use of HH wedding venue and includes crockery, glassware, napery, chairs, tables and tea lights, and we can assist with suggestions for florists, photographers, hairdressing and cakes. Catering is an additional cost.
Q: How can I book a wedding after viewing the venue?
A: To confirm a booking HH requires a Terms and Conditions document signed by the Hirer.
Q: What are the hours to access HH?
A: Access to HH is 10am the day prior to an event. Access for the wedding day is 10am until 11.30pm, and access the day after until midday only.
Q: Is there any accommodation at HH?
A: Yes, we have accommodation in the cottage and the main house.
Q: Is there a Dance Floor in the Pavilion area?
A: Yes in the Polo bar area, where there is also a full size billiard table which forms a dramatic dessert station. An alternative larger dance area is the Pavilion Terrace downstairs.
Q: What is available for Music and a PA system?
A: There are amplifiers in the main Pavilion dining room, bar area upstairs, and in the Pavilion Terrace downstairs and outside at the ceremony area.
There is a wireless microphone and in built speakers in these areas. The outside speakers at the ceremony area are weatherproof. We also have a grand piano and an upright Bechstein piano.
Please note: If you wish to have a band & music played at your event the sound must not exceed 85dB within the venue - Bands/Suppliers will be required to agree to this condition, sign documentation prior to the day ensuring sound levels are not exceeded at the time of the event.
Q: Is there a fireplace in the Pavilion dining room?
Q: Is there air conditioning in the Pavilion?
A: The upstairs Pavilion is air conditioned throughout.
